Today was my first day of non-schoolness. And since I'm not in classes anymore, I can use words like non-schoolness. I slept in (thanks to a little help from Sesame Street on my iPhone), spent a lot of time outside with Ella, visited a dear friend who had a baby yesterday, and made cupcakes. I'm going to work on filling my days with nothingness, but for my first day off, I did pretty well. I have to admit that I did sign on to my class website this morning, forgetting that I didn't need to today. It's still sinking in. I'm just relieved to have the first three (of five) chapters of my thesis complete and turned in four days before the due date. Yay! Can you tell I was very ready to put it all behind me and move on to other things?
After Ella was tucked in for the night, Pete helped me get a few things down from the attic for the baby. We now have access to the car seat, bassinet, and glider. Those were the big things I wanted to put in the nursery. He took a few things out of the room, so now I'm ready to get to work on the details. I love the details.

I just had a friend ask what my color scheme is for the nursery, which
made me realize I have no idea how to explain it. I kept things very
simple with Ella's room, which wasn't too hard since we had to move when
she was 6 days old and again when she was 11 months. I did dark brown
and green before we knew boy/girl, and then just added pink to the mix.
This time, I'm going with lots of colors. Here are a few Pinterest
inspirations to give you an idea.
I should be able to make steady progress till the baby's arrival. Just 3 1/2 weeks until our due date of June 2! I'm praying to go a few days early for a higher possibility of having a successful VBAC. Ella turned and got a bit stuck during labor, so I had a c-section. This time, I would love to avoid that, though I really just want a healthy baby, of course. It'll be fun to see what happens!
I added a little survey on the side of the blog to get your opinion of the gender of our little one. I honestly have no idea this time. That might be okay, though, since I was quite sure I was having a boy with Ella. When Pete announced, "It's a girl!" I silently thought, "Really?? Are you sure?" I've had no dreams or feelings. It really will be a surprise!
